Crane Trucks at Van Vliet Automotive

At Van Vliet Automotive, you will find a wide selection of brand-new crane trucks, designed to meet a variety of industrial and construction needs. Because truck-mounted cranes can be paired with many types of truck bodies, we offer a large number of combinations. Whether you are looking for maximum lifting power, long outreach or specialized setups, we have the right solution for you.

Crane Truck Configurations

Crane trucks come in various axle configurations, each suited for different terrain types, weight classes and operational requirements. Common configurations include:

These numbers indicate how many wheels and driven axles a truck has. For instance, a 6x2 truck has six wheels, with two of them powered. Your choice depends on factors like load weight, road conditions and transport distance.

Emission Standards (Euro Norms)

All our crane trucks meet European emissions standards, ensuring environmental compliance and operational eligibility in low-emission zones. Models in our inventory typically meet:

These standards limit the emission of pollutants such as NOx and particulate matter, helping businesses stay future-proof and environmentally responsible.

Top Brands of Loader Cranes

Van Vliet stocks trucks fitted with loader cranes from globally recognized brands, such as:

HIAB
Palfinger
PM
Fassi

These cranes are professionally installed by certified bodybuilders who prioritize quality, safety and durability.

Crane Truck Lifting Capacity

The lifting capacity of a truck-mounted crane is measured in ton/meters (t/m). For example, a crane with a rating of 90 t/m can theoretically lift 90 tons at 1 meter from the crane. This rating decreases with distance, which is detailed in the crane’s load chart.

Light-duty cranes (e.g., 30–35 t/m) typically have two outriggers.

Heavy-duty cranes (100+ t/m) usually include four outriggers and a front stabilizer, allowing for 360-degree operation. This front stabilizer is mounted to a chassis extension to evenly distribute forces across the truck frame, enhancing both safety and stability.

Crane Outreach & Extensions

The reach of a loader crane depends on the number of hydraulic extensions it has. A crane with nine extensions can cover a substantial working radius. Many of our cranes also feature a Flying Jib — an additional articulated arm that adds both reach and flexibility, enabling the crane to operate in hard-to-access areas.

Remote Control & Onboard Features

Modern crane trucks often include a remote control system, giving the operator full control at a safe distance with better visibility. Additional features include:

Toolboxes for storing accessories like chains, hooks and outrigger pads

Crane winches (e.g., 2.5T or 3.5T), allowing lifting from above and increasing crane versatility

Smart winch integration, enabling automatic in/out adjustment while telescoping the boom

Crane Truck Body Options

Crane trucks are available in various body styles to match different applications. Examples include:

  • Flatbed trucks with cranes
  • Tippers with cranes
  • Recovery trucks/tow trucks with cranes
  • Box body trucks with cranes

You can combine a loader crane with almost any truck type to suit your business needs.

While the truck chassis and crane system may come from different manufacturers, they are professionally integrated for optimal performance.
